Synopsis
A woman, an Afghanistan veteran, entangled in a mysterious relationship with her dead best friend from the army, meets her Vietnam vet grandfather at the family’s lake house. Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris previously starred together in Gone Baby Gone (2007). I saw it at SXSW 2024 and it was by far the best film (as also mentioned above). It’s based on a true story. It made me laugh, it made me cry, and it also made me think more about veterans and the challenges they face when they return from war. I’m trying not to give too much away and spoil it for others, but if you’re going to see it – have a box of tissues with you! The acting is incredible – you can’t go wrong with people like Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris. I’m not as familiar with some of the other actors/actresses, but I definitely know their names by now! They’re phenomenal. A must-see film with a very important message for viewers.
