To escape from the police, the boy and his father take refuge in a summer camp for young people with disabilities, pretending to be a resident and his mentor. The beginning of adversity and a wonderful human experience that changes them forever. Artus has always been impressed by the imagination and energy of the mentally retarded, and he really wanted to show it on the screen. He was fascinated by the film Le huitième jour (1996) and thought at the time that the door had finally opened, but felt that it had immediately closed. During the making of this film, he had to face a lot of negativity as people casually told him, “We know they exist.” не надо их показывать!”, which only increased his motivation. Un P’ti Truc En Plus (or “Something extra” in the English title) is a light-hearted French comedy. Most of the actors are disabled or people with developmental disabilities, but it was a pleasure to watch them. Thanks to them for making this film interesting and easy to watch. There are enough fun walls to entertain you. It should not be taken too seriously, the idea is clear: everyone can learn something from someone else, regardless of whether he is disabled or not. Some people may not find it funny, but then again, comedy is the hardest genre to please everyone, because we all have different senses of humor. My wife and I liked it, as did many others.
